No generation in history has ever been so thoroughly prepared for the industrial age. How have we allowed ourselves to be led by such a miserable lack of imagination?”

In the infamous YouTube educational video on technology in the 21st century “Did You Know” by Karl Fisch and Scott McLeod, they remind us that we are currently preparing students for jobs and technologies that don’t yet exist…in order to solve problems we don’t even know are problems yet. The visual arts provide the key to preparing students for this uncertain future. The arts provide the necessary creative problem solving, imagination, resourcefulness and media literacy that tomorrow’s child will need to survive.
We are calling for proposals that showcase the arts as the means for building the 21st century artist and student. Media Arts, Media Literacy, and Technology based lessons will be showcased in conjunction with the introduction brand new SC Media Arts Standards.
