Join us in Beaufort for our SCAEA State Conference November 13 – 15, 2015. Our theme is Landscapes, and we will explore the local vistas through plein air painting and photography, learn about the changing landscape of art education in South Carolina, and discover and share teaching strategies with our colleagues through a variety of workshops and sessions.

General sessions include featured artists Seymour Simmons, photographer Eliot Dudik, an introduction to our new SCDE state art associate, and the unveiling of a new, exciting opportunity for SCAEA members.

Evening events include our Artist Bazaar on Friday and our Awards event and evening workshops on Saturday.

Your registration fee includes all General Sessions, our Student Film Festival, the Vendor Breakfast, Awards Celebration, and many workshops!

Columbia College Celebrates Georgia O’Keeffe


Next school year (2015-16), Columbia College will be celebrating the Centennial year from when artist, Georgia O’Keeffe taught and created at the college, producing important early works that marked the beginnings of O’Keeffe’s mature artistic style. 

The Centennial will be anchored by a main exhibition schedule in the Goodall Gallery, where one of the exhibits will include a K12 Juried Art Competition open to all South Carolina schools. The competition is a statewide competition entitled, ‘A Natural Wonder: Exploring Georgia O’Keeffe’s Columbia College Story.” More details provided in the link below, schedule and extended links included.
