We are looking for a few good artists to submit flag designs to represent our state at the Youth Art Month Museum next year at the NAEA convention.
1. Incorporate the national theme “Building Community Through Art” into the design.
2. Include the name “South Carolina” somewhere in the design.
3. Submissions need to be in a vertical format, since all flags will be displayed vertically in the Youth Art Month Museum.
4. Creatively use images that represent SC or represent art.
Include the words “Youth Art Month” somewhere in the design.
Each art teacher can submit up to three designs. An overall winner will be selected and made into the SC flag.
Each design must be submitted on the provided Entry Form.
The deadline for submitting ideas is Monday, February 5, 2018.

Lower Region YAM show
The Lower Region celebration will be hosted at FABULON: Center for Art and Education on Saturday, March 18th, 2017, from 2:00-4:00pm. The showcase will include refreshments, art activities for all ages, and award announcements at 3:45pm.

There will be separate opening receptions at Conway Glass for Middle/High schools and Elementary schools.

Simple refreshments will be served.
Attendees will be treated to a glass blowing demo during the reception.

Dear Lower Region Visual Art Teachers,
Join the South Carolina Art Education Association in celebrating the creative students and art programs of our state during Youth Art Month! These celebrations will occur in four regions across the state. The Lower Region celebration will include a week long art exhibition being hosted in Charleston, SC, from Saturday, March 5th–March 19th, 2016, with a closing reception on March 19th. Your K-12th grade students are invited to be part of this exciting celebration. Two elementary, middle, and high school winners will be selected from SCAEA member submissions to continue on to the State show. You may submit up to 4 pieces. Submission deadline is Thursday, March 3rd. Submission is free for SCAEA members; non-members must pay five dollars per work of art.
